Slovak composer and multi-instrumentalist Ivan Dimitrov has recorded a new CD under the label Hevhetia. The music consists entirely of his original compositions. He is joined by his longtime friends, top musicians of the local scene – Eugen Vizváry, Juraj Griglák, Emil Frátrik, and Robert Vizvári. What does the album And – So It Is sound like?
The CD features eight original compositions by the leader. The band lineup points clearly toward a groove-oriented genre. The individual themes have a straightforward character – music blending elements of soul, Balkan folk, and jazz improvisation. Dimitrov invited notable figures of the Slovak music scene, with whom he shares deep musical understanding.
As with the first album, the extremely high-quality, professional sound stands out. Dimitrov presents new themes that maintain both quality and inventiveness. The compositions as well as the performances are delivered at a very high interpretative level.
The opening track “And So It Is” has a sophisticated, demanding arrangement, which the entire band clearly enjoys. Particularly noteworthy are the excellent solo performances by Eugen Vizváry and Dimitrov himself. The rhythm section – Griglák, Vizvári, and Frátrik – grooves with excellence and provides strong support. “Love In The Rain” has a pop, ballad-like character. Dimitrov composed a beautiful theme with a sensitive melodic line. The journey continues into the ethno sphere with “Galloping Horses,” where the arrangement stands out through contrasting harmonic structures. The closing track “Keď snívam” (When I Dream) features Dimitrov in an excellent duet with guest singer Zuzana Šťastná. The theme has a catchy melody and a beautiful Slovak text.
Once again, the leader confirms his musicality, artistic vision, and mastery of the craft. The CD And – So It Is is another accomplished work by Ivan Dimitrov, a recording that will be appreciated by professionals, musicians, and general lovers of good music alike.

An outstanding Slovak musician with Bulgarian-Greek roots, violinist, composer, and producer Ivan Dimitrov has recently recorded a new original release titled *“My Colorful Dream.”* The CD presents an excellent mix of fusion, funk, folk music, Latin, pop, and jazz. First and foremost, the sound quality deserves praise, as it clearly surpasses the local standards we are usually accustomed to. The leader is an immensely talented multi-instrumentalist with a clear concept, direction, and purpose. He proves himself a flexible and broad-minded musician with an excellent vision of the overall sound, which this album fully confirms.
